Our Cross Trades involve shipping to and from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Far East, Middle East, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and Bennett & McMahon have sub-offices in all of these locations.
China Container Line (CCL)
In 2011, Bennett & McMahon signed a deal with China Container Line (CCL) for our Far East Cross Trades.
China Container Line (CCL) is an established Global logistics company specialising in various aspects including sea freight, warehousing and airfreight.
Bennett & McMahon Agencies Limited act as a representative agent to China Container Line (CCL) for the West Africa Region.
Case Study
In June 2008 Bennett & McMahon were involved in the shipping of Ductile Iron Pipe from Qingdao to Lagos, Nigeria. We organised the shipment through CCL "as agents" and in total shipped 52 40ft containers on one vessel alone.
This involved close communication between us and CCL and all containers had to be loaded the week before vessel sailing.
The Pipe was loaded into the containers extremely carefully so that the pipe wasn't damaged in any way and so that the containers weren't damaged from loading the pipe. As shown in below pictures.

Working with CCL enabled us to complete the job as smoothly as possible and keep our highly valuable customer very happy.
Since our involvement with the shipping of these goods we have shipped containers of pipefittings and accessories in the same manner for our customer.
In addition to the above we have also shipped out 3 x 40ft containers of Mosquito netting from Haiphong to Douala and 3 x 40ft containers of Hotel Equipment from Istanbul to Onne, Nigeria. An established customer of ours has been involved in the development of a new hotel complex and we are pleased to have been involved in some part of the shipping for this project.
Recently we have shipped 14 x 20ft containers from Laem Chabang in Thailand to Bermuda. Working extremely closely with our agents in Thailand allowed us to successfully to load, lash and secure the 14 Ford Ranger vehicles, which were all individually packed into each 20ft and delivered onto the vessel.
